The descent device is a very simply operated apparatus. What makes it unique is that it is totally automatic i.e. the descent rate is controlled and preset at the point of manufacture, so no matter what panic or confusion sets in at the time of use it is not possible to descent at a quicker speed than the preset speed

The brake can also be used to descend for a number of floors and then re-enter the building at a safe point on a lower level but not necessarily descending to the ground floor

The descent device has been designed specifically for use in an emergency situation. Each device has been designed for a once off use i.e. one device per head of population should be installed in the relevant building or structure

The device is also fitted with a manual break in the event of wanting to stop. An example would be an obstruction after an explosion or in a descent from an oil rig, the person could stop short of going into the water.

The device has also been designed to evacuate an unconscious person simply by fitting the device to the person, attaching the cable and hook to the anchor point and the unconscious person will descend slowly and safely to the ground or deck

The device carries a sufficient amount of cable to lower the person to ground level from their point of exit.
